Get Things Done Already

I am not going to say that I am a productivity expert. I am far from it. But I would like to think that I can stay rather productive in my life. I can dedicate all my success in productivity to the NIKE productivity method. I just do it.

I never have understood why people try to put a system in place for productivity. I understand the getting things done work flow and I use it to a certain extent. If something comes it, I either take action on it right away if it is easy, or I schedule it for the future. But here is where my productivity is different. When I schedule something for the future, I do it when it is time to do it.

Many people spend a lot of time and money creating these crazy work flow streams. Email folders, fancy to do lists, priority scales, and crazy other things. They also try different programs and applications to try to stay as productive as possible, ultimately never fully adopting a single one. Having a productivity work flow is great, don’t get me wrong. But in order to get productive, you actually have to use the work flow. A work flow doesn’t do anything if you forget appointments, don’t know what you are suppose to be doing, and don’t know your priority system.

The best system to getting things done is the Just Do It system. When you have a task to do, just do it. And if you schedule something in the future, just to it. Taking action is the simplest way to get things done. Don’t say you are going to do it. Don’t read a book on how to do it. Don’t create an elaborate plan on how to do. Just do it. Get it done already. Once you start taking massive action on everything you have to do, you will get into an amazing habit of being extremely productive.
