Give Thanks

Thanksgiving.

A day to give thanks. And eat. And eat. And eat. Despite what many of you think, this post is NOT going to be about how you should watch what you eat on thanksgiving. It is going to be the opposite. Enjoy it.

Thanksgiving isn’t the day to worry about your calories. It isn’t a day to count points. It isn’t a day to worry about carb intake. It is a day to realize what you have. It is a day to understand how blessed you truly are and how much you actually have in your life. Appreciate the people you spend it with. You have the privilege to be able to take a day and reflect on what you have and what you can give thanks for. And don’t tell me you have nothing to be thankful for. Take a deep breath in, and out. You have life. You can at least be thankful for that. Look around your life and focus on the things you do have. Not what you don’t have. Many people get down on themselves because they think of things they DON’T have, rather than what they DO have. Once you can wrap your head around being thankful and appreciate the things and people you DO have in your life, you will flip that cup from being half empty to half full. Tell people what you are thankful for and why. And if you are thankful for certain people in your life, make sure they know. Use this day to truly grasp what the day is all about and give thanks.

From my family to yours, I wish nothing but laughter, joy, and love for this thanksgiving. Relax, eat, enjoy and give thanks.

To Your Health.
