How Do You Start Your Morning?

If I were to ask you what your favorite part of your day was, how many of you would saying waking up in the morning? I would think very few of you actually hear your alarm go off and jump out of bed, ready to take on the day full speed ahead. Morning just isn’t people’s strong point. Most people slam their alarm snooze button, roll out of bed, drag themselves through their morning routine, then chug off to the 9-5. And people wonder why they have bad days when their morning starts like this. If you can develop a morning routine that is positive, and you can get excited to wake up, you will see a drastic change in every aspect of your life. Your morning needs to be the most important part of your day.

Your Thoughts Create Your Actions

Whatever you think, you are. I cannot stress how important the right mindset is in whatever you are doing in life. You thoughts will dictate your life. The sooner you can fully grasp this concept the better. And for those haters who will never believe that the thoughts that you think play a roll in your every day life, I am sorry for the life you will be living.

Knowing that your thoughts create your actions, if you get up tired, grumpy, and mad about starting your day, how do you think your day is going to go? Exactly as you think it is going to go. Now, what if you can train yourself to wake up, jump out of bed with a smile on yourself, be appreciative of the day ahead and start the day with a positive mindset, how do you think the day is going to? Exactly how you think it is going to go. Can you see how important this is? The key to having a positive successful life is having positive successful thoughts. The biggest way you can jump start this is by changing your morning routine.

Morning Affirmations

I totally realize that changing is way easier said than done. If change was so easy, everyone would be exactly who and where they want to be in life. But most are not. That doesn’t mean you can be there. Starting your day with a morning affirmation saying is a great way to kick of your morning. Kind of like this:

A daily affirmation is a series of sayings on what you what your day, week, year, life to be like. It is basically getting your brain to get into a mindset of positivity. Yes, you will feel weird the first time you look at yourself in the mirror and start talking to yourself. But when you get into a habit of doing that and you start feeling the difference in your life by giving yourself these daily affirmations, it won’t feel as silly.

The first thing you need to do is to create your affirmation. Think about your life. Is it where you want it to be? Do you have what you want to have? What are you thankful for? What are you in appreciation of? An affirmation doesn’t need to be long, but it needs to come from the heart. Don’t kid around on this. Really think about what frequency you want your brain waves on for that day. I cycle through a few daily affirmations throughout the week, but here is one that I say on a regular basis:

I have an amazing life. I have a great job, an amazing wife, and a roof over my head. I am healthy and I am happy. I work hard every day in my life to progress to the goals that I set for myself. I am lucky to have an ability to obtain all my goals. Thank you body for staying healthy and fit. Thank you mind for staying strong and passionate. Thank you world for allowing me to walk through your graces. I promise to not take for granted this day and life today as if maybe my last

monday-morning-stress-reductionNow, you maybe saying “I can’t say that, I am not fit and I hate my job”. Keep in mind an affirmation doesn’t focus on what you DON’T have. That sends your brain the wrong message. Focus on what you DO have. Don’t like your job? Well, you do have one. Don’t have good health? Well – you are alive. And you can even focus on the things that you WANT in life. Reread the affirmation above. Notice I how I say about progressing to my goals? You can say that too, or get even more specific? “I work hard everyday to start my own dog walking business”. Whatever is true in your life, say it. Embrace it. Tell the world this is who you are, and this is what you are doing. Then go forth and prosper!

I have a challenge for you. I want you to write our affirmation in the comment section here. State it. Be proud of it. Then for one week, get up every single more for 7 days, walk to the closest mirror and state your affirmation 3 times to yourself. Then notice how different the day feels. Notice how powerful this tool can be. And you just scratch the surface on using your thoughts to control your life once you master this.

So leave your affirmations below and state them for 7 days. Let me know how it goes.

Here is another affirmation I say quite often:

Thank you world for letting me a part of this beautiful day. I promise to live it to the fullest. Thank you body for letting me have optimal health, and for functioning in a normal way. I am a strong, smart individual with the strongest of human potential inside of me. With enough planning an action there is nothing that I cannot do. I will get anything I want in life through my actions. I appreciate every I have. Carpe Diem.
